Michiel Ceulemans was born in 1990 in Biervliet (Netherlands).
He studied composition at the Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (FHK)
with Kees van den Bergh (composition), Martijn Smits (music theory) and Jurjen van Geenen (counterpoint).

During his education he attended master classes with Dmitri Andrikopoulos and Daan Manneke. His works have been performed at the November
Music Festival, in the TivoliVredenburg and in the Theater de Nieuwe Vorst.
Simeon ten Holt has long been a great influence on the works of Ceulemans.
During his studies he developed his own minimalist variant of the cell technique, originally a romantic writing technique.
Characteristic of Ceulemans is the enormous expressive power of his music, which is often accentuated by collaboration with artists from other
disciplines such as theater, dance and poetry.
